Clutter isn’t something that many of us plan. In amongst the frantic pace of modern life it just sneaks up on us. This website aims to help you to reduce the clutter in your life. To win back the time that you currently spend searching for things, to turn your home into a calm haven where you can truly relax.
Some people assume that having an organised home means having a sterile home, or one that lacks warmth. That is simply not the case. Orderliness simply means that everything has a place. Orderliness means knowing where to find something when you need it. Orderliness means not keeping the things that you don’t need or love. Orderliness means freeing up time to spend doing the things that you like to do.
Over the next few months I will be adding extra pages to this section; with images that inspire me towards my goal of living a more simple, more ordered life.
In my own quest for an orderly life I have often discovered just how daunting starting the process of eliminating and organizing clutter can be. The key to it I have discovered is to start small. Pick one small area, whether that be a room, a storage cupboard or even a drawer. Imagine how you would like it to be, what functions you want it to perform, how it should look. Then collect together the things that you need to make it that way. Working for a small period of time can then bring order to that small part of your home and office. Not only will this give you a sense of accomplishment much more quickly, it will also hopefully inspire you to move on and organise other parts of your home. The key to success with this strategy is to have an agreement with yourself and others that you live with, that once finished, that part of your home or work environment will never be chaotic again.
